ZIMBABWE’S REDCLIFF TOWN TO CONSTRUCT WATER TREATMENT PLANT
Redcliff Mayor submit a proposal to the Minister of State for Midlands Affairs for a proposed water treatment plant construction.
The project which will help solve the perennial water woes in the community and it will also help Redcliff resort to rationing water and restricting residents to only two days of running water per week due to the satellite town owing in excess of $14 million in unpaid water bills.
Redcliff Mayor, Fred Kapuya; “The project is now in motion after we recently held a ground-breaking ceremony as well as applying to Government for a go-ahead on our plans to be independent in terms of water and sewer reticulation system.”
According to him, they has approached the office of the Minister of State for Midlands Provincial Affairs to make sure that Government responded to their application in time because the new Government has reiterated the need to curb bureaucratic issues.
The project will also enable the town to be an independent supplier and also assist the neighboring towns.
